Julie Zamler

Intellectual Property Attorney

Julie is an intellectual property attorney specializing in patent preparation and prosecution. Julie handles matters in the materials science discipline, such as composite materials and ceramic bonding for both the automotive and semiconductor industries. Julie also has experience prosecuting U.S design patent applications.

Julie brings with her a true passion for IP backed up by her extensive education background combined with her practical experience. Julie has five years of non-attorney experience working in the IP field as an assistant and paralegal. Prior to this, Julie also spent two years working for a contract research organization in the biopharmaceutical field. This broad array of experience has given Julie meaningful experience at many levels of intellectual property management, truly working her way up from assistant to Patent Attorney.

In addition to her extensive IP background, Julie enjoys playing tennis in her spare time. Julie also spends part of her free time tutoring Adult English as Second Language students through the Oakland Literacy Council.

Industry Experience

Prior to joining Burris Law, Julie spent over three years as a patent legal assistant with a national intellectual property firm. Julie joined Burris Law as a paralegal in 2018 and became a Patent Attorney in 2020.
