Patent Agent Megan Parrish knows that beyond the legal reasons for filing a patent lie the business reasons. She prioritizes knowing the client’s business case for securing a patent, which informs the legal strategy she applies to advance her clients’ goals.

Megan’s technical background and experience shepherding intellectual property through the legal system provide efficiencies and advantages for her clients. She navigates complicated legal concepts and complex technologies to arrive at practical solutions for a wide variety of clientele including major corporations, mid-size enterprises, and entrepreneurs. Above all, she is committed to providing a high-quality product and service.

While earning her degree in electrical engineering, Megan’s educational concentrations included communications and electromagnetics. Megan also engages in volunteer work with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources through their Volunteer Stewardship Workdays program. Megan goes above and beyond for her clients, as well as for our community by working with the DNR to remove invasive species from state parks.

In addition to her technical and legal talents, Megan enjoys being outdoors and engaging in activities such as kayaking and hiking. Recently, Megan has taken up martial arts as another active hobby.

Industry Experience

Megan’s background includes 15 years of experience as an IP assistant and paralegal, which has her well prepared for her current role of Patent Agent. She has assisted in managing portfolios for major automotive companies, auto parts suppliers, and an array of international clients. In addition, she also worked with various companies on trademark matters. Megan maintains an active profile among the Detroit community, bringing her legal and technical experience to emerging enterprises.
