Lindsay Kandow

Intellectual Property Attorney

Lindsay Kandow leads an experienced team in assisting clients with patent portfolio development and management. She enjoys getting to know and building connections with inventors, in-house counsel, as well as examiners at the USPTO.  She believes these connections enable good working relationships that set the foundation for high quality services.

Lindsay counsels clients on various intellectual property matters including patent preparation, prosecution, as well as patentability, freedom-to-practice, and validity/invalidity searches and opinions. Lindsay specializes in computer software and artificial intelligence related technologies for various industries. She has nearly 25 years of experience in automotive controls related technologies including autonomous, semi-autonomous, and non-autonomous control strategies, computer vision, and machine learning.

When Lindsay is not practicing law, she enjoys golfing, skiing, spending time with her husband sailing on West Bay in Traverse City, Michigan and supporting her three children at their various sporting events.

Industry Experience

Prior to practicing law, Lindsay spent five years as a software engineer in the automotive industry where she developed software for engine, transmission, and body control modules, assisted with the calibration of the software for vehicle specific applications, and developed in house tools used in the software and calibration process. In addition, Lindsay was heavily involved in organizing teams, training team members, and curriculum for A World In Motion, a STEM based program sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers that connects engineers with students at local schools through an engineering challenge.
