Abdurrahman Mustapha

No matter the field of technology, Abdurrahman Mustapha has the skills necessary to protect valuable inventions and help his clients realize their business goals. As a seasoned IP attorney, he has prosecuted and managed domestic and international patent applications relating to business intelligence platforms, cable and internet technologies, content streaming, data analytics tools, artificial intelligence and machine learning software, power controllers, telecommunications, and medical devices, among other areas. He also has conducted due diligence and advised clients on portfolio growth and protection of intellectual property.

Abdurrahman’s past legal experience includes serving as an associate attorney at multiple international firms, where he prosecuted and managed the filing of patents, trademarks, and copyrights across many different technical disciplines. He also has experience successfully litigating trademark cases.

Abdurrahman is particularly passionate about helping start-up companies navigate obstacles entrepreneurs commonly face. He is well versed in both business development and legal issues that may arise due to his extensive involvement with start-up companies, where he has held various positions across a broad spectrum of industries. Because of this, Abdurrahman knows the importance of offering proactive, step-by-step, solutions that help IP owners of all sizes protect their intellectual assets while growing their businesses.

In addition to his legal career, Abdurrahman is a co-founder and legal advisor at an internationally recognized and philanthropic-based company that donates snack bars to impoverished individuals and communities. He also regularly contributes to pro bono matters.

When not in the office, Abdurrahman can be found spending time with his family or competing in various sporting activities, including hockey, basketball, and soccer. He also is a strong supporter of philanthropic organizations and strives to learn something new every day.

Industry Experience

Before earning his electrical engineering degree, Abdurrahman worked as an engineer at a global leader in consumer appliances, where he focused on creating solutions to reduce the costs of user interface controls.
