Intellectual Property Attorney
Jennifer focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution, patentability and clearance searches, and opinions. Her passion for intellectual property and business-minded focus help Jennifer assist her clients with efforts to expand and protect their intellectual property assets. Jennifer’s tenacity developed through becoming a skilled litigator as a solo practitioner prior to joining Burris Law makes her the go-to resource for clients in need of assistance with enforcement efforts.
During law school, Jennifer’s gained valuable experience as an intern assisting in patent matters involving a variety of electrical and mechanical arts, and served as second chair in litigation involving misappropriation of intellectual property. Notably, Jennifer concentrated her studies at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School on Intellectual Property, where she graduated cum laude and contemporaneously completed the requirements for the Examination for Registration to Practice in Patent Cases Before the USPTO at Oakland University.
Before pursuing her legal career, Jennifer exercised her entrepreneurial spirit by founding and serving as President of a mortgage company. Jennifer is also the Founder and President of the New Beginnings Foundation, a Michigan non-profit corporation that finds shelter for misplaced teens.
Prior to joining Burris Law, Jennifer founded a solo practice focused on intellectual property, including patents and trademarks, as well as civil and criminal litigation.
