Burris Law is pleased to welcome Luke Hibbeler to its St. Louis office. A St. Louis native and intellectual property attorney, Luke focuses his IP practice on patent prosecution across chemical, materials science, and mechanical technologies.

With a background in chemical engineering and chemistry, Luke works closely with inventors to understand not only how their technologies function, but what makes them valuable. His practice includes prosecuting U.S. patent applications, including U.S. national stage applications, and managing related patent portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.

Before joining Burris Law, Luke developed a broad-based intellectual property practice that also included patent infringement matters, patent scope and validity analysis, licensing, and other intellectual property agreements. That experience gives him a practical perspective on how patent rights may ultimately be evaluated, commercialized, and enforced. 

Luke earned his J.D., with an Intellectual Property Concentration, from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Chemistry, from Kansas State University. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to the State Bar of Missouri.

Luke is a former All-Academic Big 12 Scholar-Athlete – competing in Division I Track and Field at Kansas State University. While attending Saint Louis University School of Law, he used his final year of NCAA eligibility and set a school record in the 400-meter hurdles.
